Where have I been lately? Well........ school is back in session, and I spent the last few weeks of my Summer relaxing in Pennsylvania and NYC. It was a blast!
We visited Amish Country, Pennsylvania. It was so much fun getting to see all of the Amish homes, and we were even lucky enough to catch a tour where we got to visit a few places. The first stop was a dairy farm. They had tons of cows and we even got to feed a three day old calf. We then had the chance to shop in their little quilt boutique and my wonderful Daddy bought us some quillows! (they are pillows that fold out into quilts)
Our second stop was a gourd farm. It was amazing how many different things they made out of gourds. Our third and final stop was an Amish home. We all went to their back porch and talked for about an hour. When it was time to leave we said our goodbyes and bought some homemade strawberry jelly! (AMAZING)
We went to Hershey and Wilbur for some fun chocolate cravings on our way to Philedelphia. After spending two nights in Philedelphia, we headed to the Amtrak station to catch a train to NYC. I was fidgity the whole way. The feeling I experienced when I saw the Empire State Building was how you feel when you get your first bike.
When we walked out of the station, I immediately saw Macy's. I wanted to run to the hotel, throw down my bags, and run through the city. Here is the view from the top of the Rockefeller.
We of course had to do some shopping so we hit H&M and Forever21. I got two pairs of jeans for $9.00 each at H&M and a pair for $10.50 at Forever21. I cannot wait to go back.
If you happen to visit soon, you have to visit Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway. It is a diner where people that want to make it on Broadway go get a job there, and they wait tables and sing songs. They have recently lost about 15 waiters/waitresses to Broadway. The newest one of which is the male lead in Mamma Mia.
I hope that you all get the chance to visit NYC and Pennsylvania soon. If you have been tell us your favorite place in the comments below.
(Sorry about the sideways pictures. Over half of the ones we took are sideways.)
