I am super-dooper excited for today's post! This is a step-by-step instruction guide for the following look.
I think it is absolutely gorgeous and cannot wait to start teaching you how to succeed in doing it on either yourself or a friend. Also I am going to put more than one of the products that you can use for this look and tell you where the products can be found. (one drugstore/cheap brand and the other a higher end brand) I hope you enjoy this look!
This picture is from google.com. definitely not of me. |
First thing you want to do is to apply a good eye primer all over your lid and underneath your eye. A really good primer is Too Faced's shadow insurance, which you can find at Sephora for $18.00. A cheaper brand is L'oreal Paris' De-Crease eye shadow base for about $7.00 on amazon. Eye Primers are not always necessary. If you are just starting out with wearing makeup than you do not have to wear a primer or a shadow base. This step is definitely optional.
Now you are going to take the color Electra by M.A.C, which is about $15.00 if you buy it at the M.A.C counter in your local mall. You can also use Coastal Scents' Mineral eyeshadow in Romantic Night, which is $7.95 if you go to http://www.coastalscents.com/makeup/mineral-makeup-1/eye-shadow-liner/mm-es-057.html. (You can get a sample size for about $1.00) You are now going to take the color you choose with an eye shading brush and sweep it across your entire lid up to your crease.
Next you are going to take the color Silver Ring by M.A.C and apply it in your crease using a flat definer brush. You can go ahead and spend the $15.00 for this eyeshadow color, if you do not already own it, or you can use the Mineral eyeshadow in the color Vampin' Blue by Coastal Scents, for $7.95. Make sure to apply a little bit of this color to the outer corner of your eye.
This next step works great with the color Bare Skin by Escentuals BareMinerals, for $13.00 at Sephora. You can use any color similar to it, but this one is a great color to use. Using a medium angled brush, apply it right above your crease. Do not go all the way up to your brow bone.
Now you are going to take a medium shading brush again and apply the color to your brow bone. Use any white eyeshadow you have laying around. After that take a blending brush and blend all of the colors together. This will make your look look (look look= Funny) more professional.
Next take your Bare Skin color again and sweep it under your eye, using the short shader brush. Over that color apply the same color you put on your crease, using your short shader brush again. After this don't forget to blend it in.
Lastly, if you choose to, you can apply any white shadow to the inner corner of your eye. This brightens up your eye drawing more attention to it. Oh, and I almost forgot. Put on any brand/kind (liquid, gel, or pencil) of black eyeliner and plop on either fake eyelashes or just black mascara. Also do not forget to put on your fave lipstick or gloss to complete your look.
I hope you love it! It is super cute and definitely gorgeous. It is casual enough for work and dressy enough to wear to a party or even your prom. Leave a comment telling me how you like it and do not forget to follow me.
Toodles,
Emilee
