New Year = New You

Hey!

So A new year is almost here and now is a better time than any to change up your style. Try to be a little more daring by maybe changing your eyeliner colors. This can help you be a little more fun and daring with your look starting with a small thing and getting bigger.

Another thing you can test out is mixing patterns. This can be tough and turn out tragic if not done right. For some help look into magazines. I enjoy watching my favorite beauty gurus on Youtube for advice. Find someone who you find fun to watch and who has great tips and check into their videos every now and then.

Comment below and let us know what your New Years resolution is for 2013!

Quick Tip

Hey!

The quick tip I have today is if you want a brighter, wider looking eye take any white eyeshadow and dab it in your inner corner. I recommend using the color Linen by Maybelline. This shadow has a hint of glitter which will catch the light, resulting in the illusion of a wider and brighter eye.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo

Hey,

Today I am doing a review on the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows. I am absolutely in love with these. I only own two (barely beige and tough as taupe) but they are absolutely amazing. They are very pigmented and last a super long time.

Tough as Taupe is a bit darker on than it appears in the jar. With this said, I still love it! It is great under lighter frosty shadows and even by itself. I like to apply it with my finger, but i have found that the e.l.f. essential eyeliner brush. (you can purchase it at Target or by clicking here e.l.f. Cosmetics website) Even though it is a liner brush, it is only $1.00 and the flat side makes it easy to apply and pick up color. To purchase this amazing product click on the store name below that you prefer! (Links are in order from least expensive to the most expensive.)

Barely Beige is a very natural color. I prefer this one as a shadow base, but it still looks great by itself. You can honestly put any color shadow over it to lighten up your look a little. I have to say this one is my favorite out of the two, but I love both of them. This color has a hint of shimmer to it but you might not even be able to notice it. You cab apply it with your finger or with the e.l.f. eyeliner brush. I prefer my finger with this color, because it is so natural you do not have to worry about being precise. To buy this color you can you the links above. ( You cannot find this color on CVS.com)

I hope you all try these out. There are so many colors for you to choose from. I guarantee you will find one you love! Let me know what you think in the comments below. Also, let me know about any products that you would like a review on. Hope you enjoyed!

OPI App

Hey,

For my fellow nail polish addicts I have a special tip for you. If you happen to have an ipad, iphone, itouch, etc. then you can download the free OPI polish app. If you cannot afford or do not want to buy an expensive polish, you can use the app to find a similar colored lacquer at the drugstore of your choice. Hope you enjoy this quick tip!

(P.S. Sorry there haven't been any posts lately. Been busy with school.)

Sigma Beauty

Hey,

Today I am going to talk about Sigma Beauty. ( http://www.sigmabeauty.com/?Click=321456) This is a great website for any makeup gurus. They sale brushes, tools, and eyeshadow palettes. Their brushes are the best of the best. They are amazing quality, and though they are pricey, they will last you for the rest of your life!

Keep up with my blog posts to figure out promo codes. The first promo code that I have for you is SAVE2012, which will take 10% off your entire purchase through the end of August, so you must hurry! Also, If you make a purchase of over $30.00 During the month of August, through the link above, you will receive a FREE E05 eye liner brush. This is the perfect brush for liquid or gel liners. To make it even better, the brush is hot pink! I don't know about you, but I prefer my brushes being pink over black or white.

You can purchase the brushes individually starting at $9.00, or you can purchase them in a "bundle" for a discounted price, starting at $49.00. If you do so happen to purchase some brushes from Sigma and would like to do further research on them, there are numerous videos that you can watch.

If you would rather purchase a palette, then you might also want to watch a video on colors/pigmentation before you decide. their palettes start at $35.00 and go to $59.00. For those of you thinking YIKES, let me reassure you. Since there are eight eyeshadows in each palette, that that makes them $4.30 a shadow. Basically, the same price you would pay for eight single shadows at the drugstore. As you will see if you watch a few videos, these palettes are not your drugstore eyeshadows. Their palettes that are available for purchase year round contain eight shadows each. They are all three $35.00. With each palette you also get a double sided brush with a shader brush on one end and a crease brush on the other end.

If you want a neutral color palette then go for the Bare palette. You will receive creams, browns, greys, and blacks as in the picture above. You can play around with them to make the perfect everyday look! Some of the colors are matte whereas others have a little bit of shimmer to them. Makes your blue eyes pop! This palette should last you a very long time.
The picture above is the Dare palette. This is for the girl that wants to stand out. The reds, oranges, creams, and plums are bound to give you an eye catching look. This palette also gives you the choice of going more natural on some days as well. I love the color Vanish. (far right) It is such a pretty tan shade. Great for green eyed girls! Every single color will be easily used to its full potential in this palette.
This palette has to be my favorite. If you just want to have fun adding a little bit of color to your natural eye look, this is going to be your best friend! The turquoise, green, and purple colors will look great with the natural colors. This makes brown eyed girls stand out. The combination is great! This palette is irresistible.

Of course there are other limited addition palettes that come out every now and then. These palettes and brushes make FABULOUS Birthday and Christmas presents. If you purchase anything from Sigma you will definitely not be sorry! Let me know what you purchase in the comments below.

Where have I been???

Good morning,

Where have I been lately? Well........ school is back in session, and I spent the last few weeks of my Summer relaxing in Pennsylvania and NYC. It was a blast!

We visited Amish Country, Pennsylvania. It was so much fun getting to see all of the Amish homes, and we were even lucky enough to catch a tour where we got to visit a few places. The first stop was a dairy farm. They had tons of cows and we even got to feed a three day old calf. We then had the chance to shop in their little quilt boutique and my wonderful Daddy bought us some quillows! (they are pillows that fold out into quilts)

Our second stop was a gourd farm. It was amazing how many different things they made out of gourds. Our third and final stop was an Amish home. We all went to their back porch and talked for about an hour. When it was time to leave we said our goodbyes and bought some homemade strawberry jelly! (AMAZING)

We went to Hershey and Wilbur for some fun chocolate cravings on our way to Philedelphia. After spending two nights in Philedelphia, we headed to the Amtrak station to catch a train to NYC. I was fidgity the whole way. The feeling I experienced when I saw the Empire State Building was how you feel when you get your first bike.

When we walked out of the station, I immediately saw Macy's. I wanted to run to the hotel, throw down my bags, and run through the city. Here is the view from the top of the Rockefeller.

We of course had to do some shopping so we hit H&M and Forever21. I got two pairs of jeans for $9.00 each at H&M and a pair for $10.50 at Forever21. I cannot wait to go back.

If you happen to visit soon, you have to visit Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway. It is a diner where people that want to make it on Broadway go get a job there, and they wait tables and sing songs. They have recently lost about 15 waiters/waitresses to Broadway. The newest one of which is the male lead in Mamma Mia.

I hope that you all get the chance to visit NYC and Pennsylvania soon. If you have been tell us your favorite place in the comments below.

(Sorry about the sideways pictures. Over half of  the ones we took are sideways.)

Best Chap Sticks of the Summer

Hey,

I have my three favorite chap sticks of the Summer.

1. Nivea chap stick in A Kiss of Shimmer- This product can be found at Target in a pack with another Nivea chap stick for only $2.99. It has SPF 10 in it, and gives your lips the moisture they need while leaving them with a light pink look with a touch of shimmer.

2. Soft Lips- I love this chap stick! It is crazy moisturizing and does not burn your lips when they are extremely dry. Instead, they give them a cool, breezy feeling.

3. Carmex- This chap stick is a must have for anyone on the planet that has ever had dry lips. It has a funny smell to it but after about a minute of wearing it, the smell fades, but not the the adored feeling of moisture relief. This is an amazing chap stick.

I hope this helps you out!

Review Frenzy

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday I got back from Target and immediately swatched my new Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow quad in Sapphire Smoke. It was regular $4.99, but was on clearance for only about $2.50. I saw many things on clearance, but this was something that I thought would be fun to do a colorful tutorial for you all.

What do you think? Should I do a colorful tutorial or an everyday tutorial?

Bad Hair Day

Having a bad hair day???? Just part your hair down the back and braid your hair on both sides.

I have found that any braid helps with a bad hair day, or even if your hair appears/ is greasy. Make sure not to brush the roots of your hair. Use your fingers, or even a comb. Bobby pins help a lot with this hairstyle.

Beauty Gift Bag

Hey Everyone,

So, I need to apologize for not timing any post for you all while I was gone. I was visiting my Wonderful Grandparents and was having so much fun, that I totally forgot about my blog. I will not be posting very much within the next few weeks from what I understand. If I do get the chance to post a lot of posts, then I have found time.

Now for the topic. Anyone that is having a fun spa Birthday Party or any sort of beauty party, will love this idea! All you need is a cute gift bag, some nail polish (preferably two per guest), some toe separators, some nail stickers, and a few nail files.

There are soooo many other items that you could add, but these are the basics. Put 2-4 nail polishes in each bag. If you would like to go for a more expensive lacquer, then only put 1 or 2. I recommend 3 or 4 of any Sally Hansen or NYC polishes. Take a sheet of nail stickers and also about two nail files and add them to the baggy as well. Add a pack of toe seperators. If you would like you could add some Art Deco polish pens, or some shadows/ blush/ glosses.

For the shades of polishes for the seasons check out the polish Summer guide. I will be doing a Polcih Color guide for each season, when the season comes around.

Hope you enjoy and let me know what else you would add to your Fun and Creative baggy!

Lights! Camera! Cheese!

Hey Fashionistas,

Today my sister is wearing the cutest outfit! I thought it was definitely worth showing you all.

The top is from Forever 21. It is $6.80. It is a gorgeous peachy brown color and can be made to flatter you by buckling up the thinnest part of your torso. She paired it with some light wash capris, some silver flats, and a sterling silver necklace.

Her hair is one of my favorite parts of her look. She french braided it after her shower and this morning took the blow dryer to it for a few minutes and took out the braids.

For her makeup she is wearing the MAC eyeshadow, in the sailor collection, in Barefoot. On her lips she is wearing a lipgloss in a strawberry color.

Let me know if you would wear this outfit by leaving a comment down below.

Bobby Pins

Hey,

If you are anything like me you lose bobby pins all of the time. A great way to store them and keep them easily accesible is to attach a magnetic strip to your drawer and apply them onto it. I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was super clever.

Another way to keep up with them in your purse or in your luggage is to take an old Tic Tac container and load them in. This is great, because the Tic Tac containers stay shut well and will not let your bobby pins go in your bags. I also saw this on Pinterest.

This website has tons of unique storage ideas, crafts, sayings, etc. You will definitely think more than once "Why didn't I think of that???" I love this website! You can follow my pins under Emilee Murphy. I would love to know your name on Pinterest so that I can follow all of you!

Polish History

Hey,

As you all know, I am a huge nail polish fan. I wanted to talk about the changes I have seen in nail polish over the past year. There are many ways that you can decorate your nails yourself, but I had never thought that a nail polish could do the decorating for you.

The idea of making nail polish with glitter and metallic was very clever and a huge hit. Now they have come out with shatter nail polish. You can find it in almost every brand now. Whether you want the OPI polish or a polish that is a little cheaper, such as Revlon.

After the shatter style became big, they came out with the magnetic polish. Although this polish is taking a little more time to become a must have for everyone and every brand, it is still a very cool idea.

The latest nail polish style that I just discovered today is the newest. It is by OPI and is called Spotted. The picture below is what it looks like. I think it is extremely cool, and have no idea of how they created it. It reminds me of finger prints in an investigation scene or movie. I cannot wait to get my hands on this product and will be happy to show you all pictures of my own experience and let you know how I like it.

woah! i want this NOW

Tanks

Hey everyone,

Tank tops are not very cheap. My idea of a good price for some tank tops is $3.00. Forever 21 has sixteen different colored tanks for $2.80 each. Definitely check it out. If you cannot find them in your store you can always order them online. Good luck shopping!

Times Square

Hey,

I picked up the NYC nail enamel in Times Square when I went to Target last for $.99. It is a super gorgeous tangerine color and should be added to your summer nail polish list. I am in love with this color and it makes your nails look long even if they are not the least bit long.

I also wanted to tell you all about the Sally Hansen nail strengthener polish. I had it on for one night, and it made my nails grow really REALLY fast! You can wear any nail enamel over it but every 4 to 5 days you remove it and start over the process. It is AMAZING!!! You should definitely check it out.

MAC

Hey,

People always wonder what the best eyeshadow is. For a starter if you go to MAC, here are two eyeshadows to try out. Naked Lunch and Phloof are great beginner eyeshadows from MAC. You can have fun with the looks by adding a fun eyeliner color.

Two blushes that you should try to get your hands on are Dame and Pink Swoon. Pink Swoon is more vibrant then Dame, but it does not look cakey or fake on. Dame is more of a soft pink. If you are going to be a little more daring go for the Pink Swoon, but if you want to have one that will be a great neutral blush, go for Dame.

If you want to get a lipgloss, go for a lipglass or a dazzleglass. Make sure it is a light pink color and if I were you I would get one with some sparkle in it. A little shimmer never hurt anyone.

Hope this helps!

  3. Wall Street: Pink is the only way to describe this beautiful color.

  3. Forget Me Nots: A brilliant name for a brilliant shade!
  4. Action: A very vibrant orange color.
  5. Tour De Finance: A hot pink color with shimmer.

That is all I have for this blog, but if there is a brand that I did not include in this post, and you would like for me to, be sure to leave me a comment or send me an email. I hope that this helps you have a summer full of color! The prices do vary, but the NYC brand is by far the cheapest, with each nail polish about $1- $2 at Target. I think that Essie is the most expensive with each nail polish about $8, but the price definitely fits the product. China Glaze and OPI are about the same price. They are both very good products. I recommend each one of these brands that have been  listed.
